Except for city and county-funded animal-control functions, we are wholly dependent on contributions from the public and our fund-raising activites for income.  Therefore, we are grateful to be in the thoughts of so many people who are concerned about animals. Although we receive some large single donations, perhaps our more typical contributor is one who sends a few dollars on a regular basis. The Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our work is only possible because of our faithful and devoted volunteers. More than 250 people lend their time, energy, and talents to keep this shelter operating. A variety of work is available:  You can walk dogs, play with cats, pull weeds, pick up trash, or even help bag aluminum cans for recycling. Call or come out to see the many ways you might help to keep us going.

The following supplies are always needed:

• Canned cat and dog food
• Kitten and puppy dry food
• Paper towels and toilet paper
• New or used blankets, towels, pillow cases and other washable bedding
• Dry dog food such as Purina, Iams, Pedigree
• Cat toys, dog toys, and rawhide chews
• Any brand of liquid laundry soap and liquid bleach
• Copier Paper
• Office supplies, Post-it notes, pens, automatic pencils, scotch tape, etc.
• Tall kitchen bags and lawn / leaf bags
• Pinesol or Lysol Disinfectant / Cleaner
  
• Baby shampoo and flea shampoo
• Aluminum cans for recycling

Reduced-fee vaccination clinics are held on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.  Rabies shots, other immunizations for dogs and cats, and annual licenses required by city and county ordinances are available then.
